Repertoire
We play a wide variety of repertoire in various Irish Styles. You will hear the whole range of well-known pub ballads but you will also hear some of the best known contemporary Irish songs. Breda's vocal style sounds great on the music of Mary Black, so we sing songs by modern writers like Jimmy McCarthy and Noel Brazil. We also do some (though not a whole lot) of Irish traditional dance music.
Instrumentation And Technical
Breda sings as only she knows how - an experience not to be missed, and she also plays the concert flute on some songs and traditional pieces. Feargal has a very percussive style on the guitar well suited to the faster numbers but he can also play with great expression and subtlety when the occasion demands. For the sake of variety he also uses a Dr. Boss DR-770 drum machine and a Roland PK-5 1-ovtave MIDI pedal board to judiciously enhance the overall sound with rhythms and drones. Feargal also sings with Breda on backing vocals and you can always rely on him to growl out a few 'real' pub songs!
Kingsfold have a variety of sound system options to offer suitable to anything from living rooms to pubs and small venues. They are happy to use your in-house sound system as long as it meets professional standards
'The Parting Glass' CD Recording
'The Parting Glass', released by Kingsfold Music Productions in 2005, takes the best of Kingsfold's music and expresses it in the recorded medium. It demonstrates a good cross-section of their most popular songs. Have a listen to some short music clips on the player below.
